Healthcare Facilities Must Have Water Management Programs to Remain Medicare Certified

On June 2nd, 2017, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released an important memorandum.

Effective immediately, healthcare facilities are expected to implement a Water Management Program (WMP) based on the ANSI/ASHRAE 188-2015 Standard Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems. Facilities must include control measures such as temperature management, disinfectant level control, and environmental testing for pathogens.

Hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, and Long-Term Care Facilities that do not implement a Water Management Program will be cited for non-compliance with the CMS Conditions of Participation.

We want to assure facilities that Barclay Water Management, Inc. has a team of risk assessment professionals available to survey your facility and identify those locations presenting the greatest risk to human health. Our Water Management Program meets the goals of ASHRAE, CMS, CDC, and other organizations.
